Solon is a Legal Assistant, Not an Attorney
Solon is software designed to assist legal research, review, and drafting. It does not provide legal advice, does not practice law, and does not establish an attorney-client relationship. Solon does not replace the independent professional judgment of a licensed advocate or qualified lawyer.
[01]Review and Verification Responsibility
As a legal professional using Solon, you retain full professional responsibility for all work products:
- Always Verify Output: You must review, check, and verify all citations, quotes, calculations, and drafts before using, filing, or sharing them.
- No Liability for AI Mistakes: AI models can occasionally produce errors or misinterpret text. You are responsible for ensuring that all citations and legal statements are accurate.
[02]Ownership of Your Documents & Work
We respect your work and your client confidentiality:
- Your Intellectual Property: You own 100% of all documents, drafts, contracts, notes, and work products you create using Solon.
- Software License: Verantu Labs grants you a personal, non-exclusive license to use the Solon Desktop app and Microsoft Word Add-in in accordance with your subscription plan.
[03]Subscriptions, Billing & Refunds
Subscription and payment terms:
- Subscriptions: Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- Payment Security: Payments are handled securely through PCI-compliant payment processors (Stripe, M-Pesa, Paystack). We never store your payment card numbers.
- 14-Day Refund Policy: If you are not satisfied with Solon, you can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase by contacting our support team.
[04]Limitation of Liability
Solon is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Verantu Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including lost profits, adverse court judgments, or missed deadlines) arising from the use of the software.
[05]Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved by arbitration under the rules of the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration (NCIA).
By using Solon, you agree to our terms. See our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy.
