Introducing Solon: The Lawgiver Behind the Workspace
Solon of Athens (c. 630 - c. 560 BC) was a lawmaker, merchant, and poet, revered as one of the Seven Sages of Greece. He laid the foundational principles of Athenian democracy by replacing the harsh, punitive statutes of Draco with a unified, balanced legal code. His reforms established a structured framework where justice and order applied to all.
When Verantu Labs set out to build a workspace for modern legal work, we chose the name Solon because it represents structured, accessible legal systems. Solon runs locally on your machine, references your files, and provides cited outputs for lawyer review.
Solon keeps the original legal workspace close to the lawyer: local files, visible context, and reviewable AI output. Future product notes will share practical updates on matter workflows, document review, and desktop reliability.
