Responsible Professional Practice
Solon is designed for legal professionals. To protect the integrity of the legal system and ensure ethical practice, all users must follow the rules outlined below.
[01]No Unauthorized Practice of Law
Solon must not be used to bypass licensed legal representation:
- No Automated Consumer Advice: You may not use Solon to provide automated, unsupervised legal advice to members of the public.
- Professional Oversight: Solon is intended to support advocates, corporate counsel, and legal researchers. Non-lawyers using the tool must not treat AI output as formal legal counsel.
[02]Duty of Candor & Citation Accuracy
Legal practitioners have a strict duty of honesty before the court:
- Mandatory Verification: You must always check and confirm case citations, statutes, and quotes against official records (such as Kenya Law Reports) before submitting them in court pleadings.
- No Fabricated Authorities: You may never knowingly submit artificial or fabricated citations to a court or arbitration panel.
[03]Client Confidentiality
You must treat all client data with professional care and adhere to applicable privacy laws (such as Kenya's Data Protection Act).
[04]Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Harassment or Spam: Generating high-volume automated demand notices or vexatious claims intended to harass or intimidate.
- Impersonation: Misrepresenting your professional credentials or impersonating another advocate or law firm.
- System Abuse: Attempting to reverse engineer the application or disrupt the service.
